February 2026 Letter from 2nd VP

The new year has started out fast!  Whew!  I hope everyone has been planning projects to help veterans and the community this year.  And speaking of planning, have you got the ball rolling on American Legion Family Day?  I will be attending a webinar on February 10 to learn more about how to plan a great event.  Please reach out to me if you have any questions.  I’m excited about having this event!

Attention District 6 Units- if you’re not having an American Legion Family Day, I would like to invite you to join us at our event.  If you are hosting an event, I would love to hear about it. Let’s show national that Montana cares about our veterans and communities.

Also, did anyone have a MLK Day of service project?  If so, please send me information on what your unit did.

Remember to wear your logo ware every chance you get.  This is a great conversation starter and a foot in the door to new members.

Speaking of members, are your daughters and granddaughters members of the auxiliary/juniors?  They should be!

Have a great February, stay safe and remember our veterans every day.

I have a new email, please Use this one for all correspondence: ala.triciamc@yahoo.com

I look forward to hearing from the units.

Tricia McKinney

2nd VP Department of Montana

Community Service Chairman
