ALA cakewalk in Terry
After a fine steak or a pizza dinner at the American Legion Club in Terry, it was time for the Valentine’s Day cakewalk. The walk was sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Unit #32. ALA member Kaelin J. provided dance and cake walk music with the help of Lance K’s equipment.
There were about 14 cakes of various styles, sizes and flavors made by local AL Auxiliary members. Throughout the evening, dancing would stop and a cake walk would begin! Each person donated at least a dollar to participate in each round of the walk. Random numbers were placed on the floor and when the music stopped, a number was drawn. If the number you were standing on was drawn, you were the winner of that cake.
The ALA Unit #32 would like to thank all who made cakes, participated in the walk or just came to listen to the music and have some fun. The proceeds from the cakewalk are used locally to provide for Veterans programs or other local community benefit efforts. We raised $366 which will be used throughout the year.
